ony Cacalano was born in New York City in 1936.
He graduated from Yale University where he received a B.F.A.
& an M.F.A. in painting. During his time at Yale, Tony
studied with major 20th century painters and historians. For
40 years, Tony Cacalano has dedicated himself to his art.
Tony has taught painting, drawing, design, & art history
at a number of notable colleges and universities. He has been
the recipient of several grants, including the prestigious
NEA grant in 1987.
Cacalano's paintings appear in important collections including
The Chrysler Museum, The Walter Chrysler Estate, The Jean
Outland Chrysler Collection, The Yale University Permanent
Collection, The Ronald McDonald Collection, The Mario Amaya
Estate, The City Municipal Centers of Norfolk & Virgina
Beach, & The Bocour Corp.
Cacalano Originals are very popular with private collectors,
especially those in the movie industry. His works appear in
the collections of Rodney Dangerfield, the composer Marty
Gold, Mort Lindsey, the musical director of The Merv Griffin
Show & Barbara Streisand's European Tour, Roy Laughlin,
President of KIIS Radio, Burbank, CA, and Oscar Winners Jim
and Dobbie Kristoff of Metro Light Studios, among others.
Tony's Paintings frequently appear in television set designs
for such shows as "Sister, Sister", "Dream
On", "90210", Roseanne", & Murder
She Wrote".
